A MAN was stabbed ‘five times’ during a daylight attack in Pitsea.

Eye-witness Leanne Taylor was in Allcures Pharmacy, in Felmores End, for some mouth wash, when the victim ran inside yelling for help.

The 49-year-old from Laindon, said: “He came in the chemist shouting for help, yelling that he’d been stabbed.

“He ran towards me so I grabbed him and took his bag and coat off, where I saw his top was soaked in blood.

“I laid him down and pulled up his top to see three holes. Myself, another lady and chemist staff checked him over and then applied pressure to the wounds - he had five stab marks, one in his bum, one in his back, one in his side, one on his head and one on his hand.

“I put pressure on his back and his bum while another shopper and chemist staff were doing the same to his head.

“We just talked to him while trying to stop bleeding.”

She added: “I only popped into the chemist to grab some mouth wash on the way past, I was shocked.

“The Allcures staff were absolutely fantastic. He kept saying: ‘I don’t want to die’, but we all kept him calm.

“I really felt sorry for him and hope he makes a full recovery, no one deserves to be left like that. I was shaking, I came out and just cried.”
