A DISTRESSED pensioner has called for action to stop vandals kicking in his front door.

The 68-year-old, of Fronks Road, Dovercourt, who asked not to be named, said teenagers regularly lash out at his door so hard “it sounds like a police battering ram.”

After the latest attack, the victim said he had to fork out more than £400 for repairs.

He said: “It has been an ongoing issue in the past five to six weeks and we are not the only one experiencing the same problem.

“Our windows and doors are being kicked; it happened four times in the past six weeks.

“It’s extremely distressing.”

An Essex Police spokesman said officers are investigating reports of damage to the door between Thursday, February 27, and Friday, February 28.

He said: “We received information that suspects, described as being aged in their teens, have been kicking his door.

“This has resulted in panels being broken.

“We are also looking into reports of harassment.

“We have been conducting enquires, including witness and CCTV enquiries, and the incidents have been allocated to an investigative officer.”
