A GIG with a jam-packed line up will be taking place in Southend tomorrow night when band T-Bitch host a benefit fundraiser on World Kidney Day.

Joining the glam punk divas will be their friend and fellow musician Chris Davison, launching his new album Fragments.

Also on the bill is Stern John, led by musician Paul Offord who will be playing with his full band for the first time in years since the demise of his former band, the Starts.

Poet Cat Howe will deliver spoken word.

London punk pranksters Anarchistwood will stampede the stage with their sound which has been described as “like a tongue scraper for the ears”.

World Kidney Day and kidney disease is a subject close to the hearts of T-Bitch, as they say one of their members would not be here today if it was not for the “amazing care” he has received at Southend Hospital’s renal unit.
It’s with this in mind that the night is being held to raise money for the NHS renal unit at the hospital via donations.

Guitarist Cheeky Bitch, aka Kev Daintree, said: “Everyday’s a gift.
“Our advice is get to this gig, dress up, be nice and be pretty!”

T-Bitch are proud to call themselves activists in areas such as anti-fascism, anti-war, pro-NHS, kidney health awareness, animal welfare, homelessness, veganism, LGBTQ equality, feminism, mental health support, local venue support plus many others.

Chris Davison’s Fragments (photo inset) meanwhile, is launched on the same day and available to buy via chrisdavison.bandcamp.com It is the Westcliff musician’s first album in six years, entirely self-recorded and produced. Chris sings and plays all of the instruments on the record, with guest vocals from Kristina Stazaker.

Chris says he came up with the idea of calling the album Fragments after “spending a quiet lunch hour near Vauxhall Bridge in London, watching boats, pieces of driftwood, flotsam and jetsam floating down the Thames, and realising that life is made up of countless fragments, some big, some small, which are here one day, and gone the next.”

“Each song on the album reflects a person, event or memory that has had an impact on my life, each one a ‘fragment’ which makes up the whole part” he said.

The fun all kicks off at 7:30pm, at the Railway Hotel, Clifftown Road.

Admission is free although the audience will be asked for donations.
