SILLY children’s comedy and internationally-acclaimed beatboxing seems an unlikely pairing - as perplexing a partnership, in fact, as chips dunked in milkshake.

But Jarred Christmas and Jack “Hobbit” Hobbs have chosen to shimmy their way out of the shackles of normality for the sake of their finely curated and unique performance.

The award-nominated Mighty Kids Beatbox Comedy Show is set to goofily hop, skip, and jump into the Colchester Arts Centre tomorrow evening, fresh from a sell-out run at the Edinburgh Festival.

The interactive, and somewhat bonkers family experience, will see children of all ages, and willing parents, enjoy a concoction of comedy and beatboxing, fronted by the very two masterminds behind the bizarre coalition.

Jarred Christmas, is perhaps best known for being the star of CBBC’s The Joke Machine and The Dog Ate My Homework. Jack “Hobbit” Hobbs, on the other hand, is a member of the Beatbox Collective, talented voice actor in Cartoon Network’s The Amazing World of Gumball, and current, two-time Loopstation Champion.

Lauded by critics, the duo’s Mighty Kids Beatbox Comedy Show has been described as a “must see”, “phenomenal” and “pure entertainment”, which will captivate mini stand-ups and buddying beatboxers from the get-go.

But the funky, on-the-spot music, in addition to the side-splitting funniness, isn’t just for the amusement of the children.

Adults themselves are also encouraged to let loose and join the mind-boggling movement.

Seamlessly blended, the shear non-stop wackiness of the show is guaranteed to leave guests with a spring in their step and a smile sprawled across their face.

As well as being able to enjoy the quirks of award-winning performers, the show will be an informative one, and guests will also have the chance to pick-up a few tips.

Mini masterclasses in how to impressively beatbox, for example, as well as advice on how to compose a mind-blowing nugget of music, also make-up the itinerary.

Throughout the show, a myriad of prizes will also be up for grabs.

But given the kookiness of the show’s concept, do not be surprised if you get a little bit more than you bargain for.

The Mighty Kids Beatbox Comedy Show comes to the Colchester Arts Centre tomorrow afternoon from 2pm.

Doors to the venue will be open from 1.30pm.

Tickets to the event cost £30 for a family of four, including at least one child.
