A BURGLAR who broke into a Castlepoint store on Christmas Day and stole cosmetics worth more than £1,500 has been ordered to repay just £90.
Jamie Shakeal Bastafield, of Grosvenor Gardens in Bournemouth, raided Superdrug on December 25 last year.
After breaking in, the burglar took 'numerous cosmetics, perfumes and aftershaves' worth a total of £1,543.
Bastafield, 35, appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court this week to admit burglary and having heroin at Bournemouth police station on January 17.
He was made the subject of a community order, under which he must have treatment for a drug dependency for six months. He was also ordered to comply with a rehabilitation activity requirement order for 20 days.
In addition, the defendant was ordered to pay just £90 in compensation to Superdrug.
An order for a victim surcharge and prosecution costs was not made, as magistrates said the priority must be paying back the business.
