THE road that goes right along Southend seafront will be closed today over flooding fears.
Western Esplanade will be closed from midday in case of further flooding and high tides due to strong winds forecast for the day.
The closure will commence at the Kursaal and divert up Pier Hill.
There will be closure at The Leas allowing access to Grosvenor Road.
The closure comes after Adventure Island was flooded yesterday due to Storm Ciara.
Adventure Island bosses have called the flooding "soul destroying" after the park has been flooded twice in 2020.
Flood water damaged the gift shop in January after Storm Brendan hit the UK.
