A SET of gates which feature on a popular walk have been vandalised again.

Rayne Parish Council has confirmed the gates near to Warners Close have been damaged, less than six months after joyriders smashed into them while driving down Flitch Way.

The damage has coincided with the vandalism of a sign along the bridleway, which is based near to Gore Road.

The parish council is now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

In a post on Facebook, it said: "If anyone is aware of any other vandalism that occurred on Monday afternoon or has information on what happened, please can they take photos and notify us.

"We have been in contact with Essex County Council and the rangers since the gates were originally damaged in August to get them reinstated.

"We are awaiting replies to our emails."

A spokesman for Essex County Council said: "This is mindless vandalism and we would urge anyone with any information to contact Rayne Parish Council or the police.

"We will repair damage, including previous damage as soon as possible."
