ALEX Salmon has been appointed as Basildon United’s new manager.
Salmon featured for the Bees during his playing career, along with neighbours Southend Manor and Enfield.
And Salmon, who has left the top job at Burnham Ramblers in order to take charge of Basildon, is looking forward to the challenge ahead.
“I am excited to be joining Basildon United at the start of this new project,” said Salmon.
“I understand the local community and really buy into the club’s plans.
“It is part of my philosophy that I am a manager of a club and not just a first team.”
Salmon has forged a reputation for not only bringing talented local youngsters through the ranks at Burnham, but also enjoying success on the pitch.
The appointment comes after interim player-manager Kris Newby and the Bees parted company earlier today.
