THE winner for the Standard’s Cafe of the Year competition was pleased to receive a huge banner with the new title, which “will hopefully boost the business”.

Adrian Pitham-Cole, owner of Deli 141 cafe, in High Street, Dovercourt, was excited to hear customers nominated the cafe and helped them win the competition.

The 47-year-old business owner said: “I feel good and privileged people took the time to vote for us and I would like to thank them all.

“We do our best to give people the best service and provide customers a good experience.

“We are very thrilled to be nominated, and more thrilled to win the competition.

“I hope we can use the banner to promote ourselves on social media.”

Mr Pitham-Cole would like to congratulate the other finalists for their accomplishments.

The other cafes nominated in the Harwich and Manningtree area included Rainbow Cafe, in Wick Lane, Dovercourt; The White Coffee House, in Kingsway, Dovercourt; and the Garden Cafe Craft Nurseries, in Harwich Lane, Lawford.

The competition, which was run by the Standard, opened on October 14.

People were asked to nominate their favourite cafes in the area and vote for them by November 22.

The winner, who won a banner with the new Cafe of the year title, was announced last Friday.
