ROCHFORD Hundred’s Craig Strachan is keen to keep the pressure on the teams above them in the London & SE Premier Division standings.
Rochford, who host Sevenoaks tomorrow, are currently third in the standings, six points behind table-topping Wimbledon.
But Strachan insists Hundred are determined to close the gap as they bid to secure a third successive promotion.
“We are looking to win every remaining game,” said Strachan.
“We can only do what we can control so if we keep winning it will put the pressure on Wimbledon.
“The last couple of games have been a bit of a rollercoaster and losing for the first time at home in nearly three years against a team who we should be beating was incredibly disappointing for everyone.
“But those are the kind of games that can make or break a season so we can’t afford to lose anymore against the lower placed teams.”
Rochford bounced back from their shock defeat to CS Stags 1863 by winning 25-16 at Dorking last time out. And Strachan was pleased with the reaction.
“The last game saw a huge improvement and going to Dorking and winning in the dominant style we did was very impressive and just what was needed,” said Strachan.
“But it will be another tough game this weekend.”
Sevenoaks head into the clash sitting fifth in the standings.
And Rochford could again opt to line up with players featuring in new roles.
“I’ve been playing six or seven in the last couple of games,” said Strachan, who had previously lined up at prop.
“I lost a few kilograms over the summer and have been begging Frank (Chris Green) to give me a go so I have to really take my chance while I have it.
“Harry Hudson has shifted to 12 recently too so has gone from the slowest seven in the league to the slowest back!”
