JAMIE O’Hara has hailed Jake Robinson after the striker reached the landmark of 100 goals for Billericay Town.

Robinson reached his century as he came off the bench to hit the only goal of the Essex Senior Cup fourth round clash with Basildon United.

O’Hara and Robinson joined Billericay in the same week of March 2017 and, since then, both men have had a brief spell away from the club before returning to New Lodge.

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder O’Hara is now in charge as player-manager, while Robinson is one of just five players to have scored 100 goals for the National League South side.

And O’Hara is still in disbelief when reminded of was he and Robinson have achieved in two-and-a-half years.

“Scoring 100 goals at any club at any level is unbelievable,” said O’Hara.

“For him to score 100 goals for Billericay is an incredible feat.

“He hasn’t been here for that long.

“We signed in the same week and we were having a laugh the other day saying that I had become the manager of the club and he was closing in on 100 goals.

“We never would have thought of it when we both joined.

“Fair play to him because he is a fantastic striker who gives us everything.

“You know he has got a goal in him all the time and it’s all about building the team around him really.”

Robinson has joined Billy Bricknell, Doug Young, Leon Gutzmore and Freddie Clayden in reaching 100 Town goals.
