WESTCLIFF head to Clifton tomorrow on the back of a morale-boosting win against Redruth.

Westcliff triumphed 24-19 in their final outing at their current Gables base last weekend.

And scrum half Chris Bolton is now keen for Westcliff to build on the victory.

“It was a great win and the perfect way to end the club’s time at the Gables,” said Bolton.

“I’m not quite a born and bred Westcliff player but you could tell it meant a lot to the players and the supporters who have been there for years.”

The victory pushed Westcliff up to 14th in the National Two South standings.

And Bolton also feels it has boosted the team.

“It’s been a great boost for the team but we know we’ve had that win in us all season against one of the big teams, it’s just small things costing us in previous tight losses,” said Bolton.

“But finally we were on the winning side and we want to build on that now.”

However, Bolton knows fourth placed Clifton will be a tricky test tomorrow.

“It will be a tough encounter,” said Bolton.

“Clifton are towards the top of the table but we’re more than capable of going to Bristol and turning them over.”
