RESIDENTS have thanked police for their dedication and professionalism as they investigated a horrific triple stabbing where three men were found dead.

Police launched a murder investigation after brothers Danny Gibson, 35 and Jason Gibson, 31, were found at an address in Wellesley Road, Colchester, and the body of Richard Booth, 35 was found inside a car on nearby Hospital Road.

Officers had to shut the road for several days and a cordon was in place and as specialist teams investigated the circumstances around the men's deaths.

But neighbours have now got in touch with the Colchester policing team to pass on their well wishes.

"The team were very touched to have received a thank you card from some of the residents of Wellesley Road and Hospital Road" said district commander, Chief Insp Rob Huddleston.

"We understand the level of disruption our presence would have caused and I would like to once again thank residents for their patients, co-operation and compassion during this time.

"Their thanks means a great deal to our officers, who were just doing their job."

Tom Saunders, 32, of Bounstead Road, Colchester was charged with the murders of all three men and is due to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court next month.
