A worker has been left injured after masked robbers armed with a gun and metal bar stole thousands from a food truck.

Police are investigating following reports of the robbery in Ashlyns, Pitsea, shortly before 12.30am this morning, Wednesday September 18.

Two men who had their faces covered with scarves had entered a food truck by the back door and threatened the workers with what was believed to be a gun.

The men who were both described as being white, around 5 foot 10 inches tall and wearing dark clothing, stole thousands of pounds in cash. 

One person was struck with a metal bar and taken to hospital for treatment.
