THE inclement weather earlier today forced organisers to postpone the Tigers Freefall Parachute Display Team's performance until the start of Night Air – giving two British Army parachute teams the chance to show their stuff.

After the Tigers made their jump, the crowds were treated to the unmistakable sight and sound of the iconic Spitfire.

Spectators lined the beaches and pathways leading to the clifftops to watch the magnificent Spitfire IX perform rolls and flypasts, indicative an an era long gone.

As the light faded the Fireflies, who had displayed during the day, came into their own.

This aerobatic display team, consisting of Jon Gowdy and Andy Durston behind the controls, set the sky ablaze with a host of pyrotechnics and coloured smoke.

Otto the Helicopter, alongside a Piper Cub, was next up.

With Brendan O'Brien flying Otto, spectators knew it would be a pyrotechnic show to remember.

The display was brought to an end by the skilled parachutists of the Red Devils Parachute Regiment Freefall Team, performing a night jump complete with pyrotechnics and luminous jumpsuits.

With live music from The Roughcuts and Madness tribute act The Los Palmas 6, Saturday's entertainment came to an end with a dazzling firework display.

Not a bad way to sign off Night Air for 2019.
