A RETAILER has voiced their plans after it was announced a high street store would be closing its doors.
Shoe Zone in Maldon confirmed they would be relocated to the Blackwater Retail Centre.
The company has also said this is a trend which is continuing across the county.
Spokesman Charlotte Voss said: “We are experiencing rapid growth with our new Big Box stores.
“It is a relatively new concept selling Shoe Zone products and branded products side by side on a larger scale.
“We are already trading from 30 Big Box stores and hope to open at least another 15 by Christmas.
“Blackwater Retail Park is a good fit for us and we are excited to be opening our new concept store there in the next few weeks.
“We are actively renewing many of our high street leases but also intend to open approximately 20 new Big Box stores each year for the foreseeable future.”
