A HEALTH guru has raised more than £4,000 and awareness of a mental health charity after a 24 hour challenge.

Dan Osman, 32, from Shoebury dragged a sledge weighing 100kg along Southend seafront to raise cash for Campaign Against Living Miserably.

He said the support he received has been overwhelming.

He has thanked support from Southend Audi, Edward Carter Solutions and MT3 Fitness.

He said: "I've got a few aches and pains after.

"The freezing wind off the sea was quite nasty.

"It was a combination of naivety and being stubbornness that got me through the challenge."

"My family were amazing, my mum stayed with my all the time and my wife kept people up to date with social media.

"So many people stopped and talked to me about it.

"I struggled at midnight and had to keep moving to keep warm."

He said he is compelled to complete the challenge after battling mental health and depression himself.

The charity's goal is a life less miserable for all men.
