A MAN has been ordered to pay hundreds of pounds after being stopped by police for being twice the drink-drive limit.
Richard Crossley, 56, of New Road, Tollesbury, was pulled over after being seen by police in Imperial Avenue and Marine Parade, in Mayland, on January 13 this year.
A breath test revealed 70 mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath – double the legal limit of 35 mcg.
Crossley appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on March 8.
He admitted to the charge and was ordered to pay £607 in fines and other court charges.
Magistrates also disqualified Crossley from driving for 18 months.
