Road blocked in both directions following crash
A ROAD is blocked in both directions following an incident.
Avon Way in Colchester is blocked after a crash, which happened in the past few minutes.
It is believed a cyclist was knocked off a bike, but this has not been confirmed.
Witnesses say the fire service, police cars and paramedics are on scene.
Police are diverting traffic.
A spokesman for the ambulance service said: "An ambulance and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance attended a road traffic collision at Avon Way Colchester shortly before 3pm today.
"A man was transported by road ambulance to Broomfield hospital with a serious arm injury."
