A driver is in custody after a crash left a teenager with serious life-changing injuries.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash which took place in North Shoebury Road, Shoebury, shortly after 3pm.
A 17-year-old boy was hit by a bus and has been rushed to hospital with a serious head injury which has been described by Essex Police as life-changing.
Witnesses reported an Arriva bus being coned and taped off by police officers in Chichester Road, Southend, at about 4.30pm.

Police have arrested a 47-year-old driver in Southend on suspicion of dangerous driving and he remains in custody.

Arriva has been contacted for comment.
