THE Beaumaris lifeboat team assisted with helping two jet skiers in the Menai Strait over the weekend.
A crew member had spotted people on the pier pointing to a person in the water on Sunday afternoon.
He then contacted the U.K. Coastguard at Holyhead and in the meantime paged Beaumaris volunteers to enable the lifeboat to be launched. It launched at 2.18 pm and arrived at the scene two minutes later. The first water skier who was in the water had managed to swim ashore so the lifeboat assisted to re-float the other Jet Ski.
Once this had been achieved and both jet skiers had been reunited with their respective craft. to ensure their safety, the lifeboat escorted the pair to Menai Bridge slipway so that the jet skis could be recovered from the water
The lifeboat then returned to Beaumaris by 3.35 pm being re-fuelled and made ready for its next service.
