A SCHOOL is training up the next generation of environmental engineers thanks to the help of a business.
Students at Ormiston Rivers Academy in Burnham are being tutored by renewable energy company RES to help them perfect the design of their new turbine protype.
Engineers lent their expertise and guidance to Year 13 students who were tasked with designing and manufacturing turbines out of recyclable materials.
The visit from is the result of a relationship between the school and Turncole Wind Farm.
Asset manager Andy Chinery said: “RES has more than 35 years expertise in the industry, so I was very happy to be able to meet and support the next generation of engineers. It has been great to see the students’ innovative wind turbines designs using recycled materials and we look forward to seeing their results.”
