POLICE have launched a CCTV appeal in relation to criminal damage in Chelmsford High Street.
At around 4am on December 21 a man climbed a large decorative bauble sculpture, which had been displayed in the city to mark the festive period.
Thousands of pounds worth of damage were caused.
Chelmsford Community Policing Team Sergeant Andy Drake said: “Chelmsford looked wonderful over Christmas thanks to the hard work of those at Chelmsford Business Improvement District.
“The sculpture was inconsiderately vandalised, causing significant damage and we would like to find those responsible.
“We understand the image isn’t very clear, but if anyone has information about the crime or the identity of this person, please contact the Community Policing Team at Chelmsford Police Station on 101.”
