Savvy shoppers flocked to High Chelmer this Boxing Day, as thousands took advantage of savings.

The popular shopping spot saw web traffic spike and social media enquiries increase in the run up to the Boxing Day bonanza – as shoppers prepared themselves to make the most of must-not-miss deals.

Mick McDonagh, centre manager, said: “Last year we had our busiest Boxing Day yet, with more than 19,000 shoppers visiting the centre and we’re eagerly anticipating to see if we have beaten this figure this year.

“It’s been very encouraging to see shoppers out in full force on one of the most popular shopping days of the year. People were queuing from early doors waiting for Next to open, so we’re pleased that the Boxing Day sales clearly haven’t lost their appeal. This will certainly be a huge boost to a lot of our retailers,” continued Mick.

“A number of stores from across the centre will have offers into the new year so I’m looking forward to welcoming even more enthusiastic visitors throughout January, as they make the most of the great deals available.”
