Inbetweeners star Joe Thomas will be turning on Chelmsford's Christmas lights.
Joe, who plays Simon Cooper in award winning TV comedy series, is returning to his hometown for the festive tradition.
He will push the button to turn on the lights and set of a firework display at 5pm on November 18.
Beforehand, there will be lots of family friendly activities and festive food and drink from noon along the High Street.
There will be stage entertainment from 2.30pm outside Shire Hall, hosted by Heart FM's Martin and Su.
Cabinet Member for Corporate Services, Councillor Anthony McQuiggan, said: “No matter how grown-up you are, there’s something magical about shopping and walking after dark in the winter air beneath the warm glow of festive lights.
“This year’s Christmas lights will be more magical than ever, with a starry net of tiny illuminations twinkling above you and plenty of all-new decorations to create that special atmosphere.”
Late Night Shopping begins in Chelmsford City Centre in December.
