A man is in a stable condition in hospital after being assaulted in Laindon.
Keith Garrett, 39, was attacked in Deacon Drive at around 5.40am on Wednesday October 3.
He was taken to hospital in a serious condition following the attack which saw emergency services flood the road.
A police cordon was put in place surrounding Deacon Drive, leading towards Minster Way.
Essex Police has now confirmed that Mr Garrett is in a stable condition.
Ricky Patmore, 22, of Nicholl Road, Basildon has been charged with grievous bodily harm (GBH) without intent and burglary in connection with the incident.
A 13 year-old boy was also charged with burglary.
He has been released on bail to appear at Basildon Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday November 13.
