CAMPAIGNERS against a controversial housing development have a month to put forward their objections.

A decision on whether to allow an 110-home development on land off Grange Road, in Lawford, will be decided by a planning inspector.

Earlier this year, a total of 280 objections were lodged to Tendring Council with concerns over the area's lack of infrastructure to cope with more houses.

Tendring Council did refuse the planning application by Gladman Developments in April, but the company appealed against the refusal and is trying to get the decision overturned by a national inspector.

John Hall, of Grange Road, said: "Lawford was relieved when the council refused the application."

But Mr Hall, who is part of the Say No to Grange Road Action Group, said he is now urging residents, organisations and councils to make their views to the inspector.

Robert Lewis, another member of the Action Group said: "The most straight forward thing to do is to write and ask the inspector to take account of the original objections made to Tendring Council."

He said the main objections were major issues with traffic and road safety, the development being on the site of a Scheduled Neolithic Monument, and 1,221 new houses already being given planning permission in the local area.

Comments or objections must be submitted to the inspector before Thursday, November 8.

The inspector, who has been appointed by the national Planning Inspectorate, will consider all objections and comments and then hold an appeal hearing on December 11 or 12.

You can email the inspector at East2@pins.gsi.gov.uk quoting the appeal number APP/P1560/W18/3201067.

Or you can make your comment online at www.planninginspectorate.gov.uk - go to ‘Search for an Appeal’ and put in the appeal number 3201067 then ‘make a representation’.

Gladman Developments has been contacted for comment.
