A giant inflatable Easter egg has manifested at The Meadows shopping centre and both kids and adults can enjoy it.

Children and parents/guardians can go inside the 5m high egg to enjoy story-telling of popular books such as The Gruffalo and the Hungry Caterpillar.

The giant egg will be in the mall from March 29 – April 4, with story time taking place regularly between 11am – 4pm every day excluding Easter Sunday. Kids can also get their face painted for free on Saturday 31st March and Easter Monday too.

Local author Sibel Beadle will be doing special guest readings from her new book on April 3 and April 4, and hosting a competition for children to design their own fictional story book character.

Continuing with the Easter festivities and celebrating the start of Spring, Chelmsford families can visit a special pop up petting farm, to meet and stroke lambs, chicks and rabbits between April 7 - 9. The petting farm will open from 11am – 4pm.

The Meadows Centre Manager, Sue Patel says “Our giant inflatable Easter egg will make for great pictures and a way to entertain the children at The Meadows this Easter. Story-telling, face painting and cute animals, what’s not to love? We’ll have perfect indoor activities for families to come and enjoy, and all for free!”
