POLICE have launched a fresh appeal for information after a man sadly died weeks after he was hit by a car.

An 86-year-old man from Danbury was crossing Moulsham Street in Chelmsford, just after 5pm on Christmas Eve.

As he walked over the road close to the San restaurant, he was hit by a white Honda Insight car.

He was taken to hospital for treatment.

Sadly, he died on Wednesday, February 28.

Police are asking anyone who saw the incident, or may have dashcam footage and has not spoken to them already, to come forrward.

They also want to speak to anyone who spoke to officer at the scene in the immediate aftermath of the crash.
