Three trainee solicitors at a leading Essex law firm have seen their hard work pay off as they move up the ranks to become fully qualified solicitors.

Jess Elwell, Molly Frankham and Rachel Leech, all in their 20s, started out as paralegals, before completing three trainee seats over 18 months with Birkett Long.

Jess, from Chelmsford, studied at Anglia Ruskin University, and joins the wills, trusts and probate team at the company’s Chelmsford office.

She said: “Birkett Long is a large firm with three offices, yet the environment is such that you still get to know everyone. I like that they place high value on client care and they have been, and continue to be, supportive and encouraging in respect of my training and development.”

Rachel, also from Chelmsford, and who completed her degree and Legal Practice Course at Anglia Ruskin, will be qualifying into the niche Court of Protection and inheritance disputes team, based in Colchester.

She said: “I like being able to solve problems and help people within an area of law I find interesting.”
