A road has been completely closed in Chelmsford after a water pipe burst near the Miami Roundabout.
The main burst onn Wood Street (B1007) prompting emergency roadworks on there and Princes Road (A114) at around 3:34 yesterday.
But this afternoon, Essex & Suffolk Water announced the road would be closed and will not re-open until Sunday.
An Essex & Suffolk Water spokesperson: “A road closure is in place on Wood Street in Chelmsford to allow us to complete emergency repairs to a burst water main. The closure has been put in place for safety reasons on advice from Essex County Council. A diversion route will be put in place this evening.
“Resurfacing work will be required once the burst has been fixed, and we expect the road to be fully reopened on Sunday 24 September. The repair work is taking longer than originally expected due to the number of water mains in the area. We would like to apologise for the disruption and thank people for their patience while we carry out this essential work.”
