Chelmsford City Racecourse will host top nineties boyband Boyzone later this year.

The band made up of Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Shane Lynch and Michael Graham have planned a handful of gigs this year ahead of their 25th Anniversary Tour in 2018.

The race course has chosen as one of the venues for these concerts and is taking place on Saturday, September 2.

Peaking in the 1990s, twenty-four years, twenty five million record sales, seven hit studio albums, six UK #1 singles show the quartet is still going strong.

Their debut album, ‘Said And Done’, crashed into the UK #1 spot in 1995, followed by their first UK #1 single ‘Words’ off their second album.

They sold-out shows and top selling singles as far afield as Asia and right across Europe.

The band played their last sell out show as a group in 2000 before moving on to focus their attentions on solo careers, acting, theatre performances and reality TV.

In 2008 the band reformed and embarked on their ‘Back Again: No Matter What’ tour.

Following the tragic passing of band member Stephen Gately there was uncertainty about the future of the band, and whilst Ronan, Mikey, Shane and Keith have kept themselves busy outside Boyzone, 2017 will see the Dublin boys set off across the UK for a series of outdoor summer shows.

Jill Turner, Commercial Manager at the Racecourse says “We are thrilled to be able to stage this fantastic evening and can’t wait to see everyone enjoying the concert as well as the racing.

"Boyzone have a huge following and it is great to be able to offer people the chance to see them play live, especially on such a special night of racing as well and can’t wait for everyone to be dancing away to some of their classic hits.”

Tickets will be on sale from www.chelmsfordcityracecourse.com on Friday, June 2 at 9am starting at £32.50pp. Hospitality packages also available.
