AN MP told how he was lucky to have escaped unharmed after his car collided with a lorry.
Mark Francois, Tory MP for Rayleigh and Wickford, was left shaken following the crash at the Carpenter’s Arms roundabout, in Old London Road, Rawreth, on Friday morning.
Mr Francois said: “Fortunately, no one was hurt. I reported the incident to the police who attended the scene and checked that everyone was alright.
“The lorry driver and I exchanged details and my car is now being repaired.
“I was a little bit shaken up on the day but I am now fine and I carried out my regular constituency surgery as usual on Saturday.
“I would like to thank the police for kindly giving me a brief lift home after the accident.”
