A SECOND man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Ladi Benson.

Officers were called shortly before 6.45pm on Tuesday, November 10 with reports of a disturbance in Baddow Road at the junction of Longfields Road.

A short time later, the ambulance service was flagged down by a group of males in Broomfield Road shortly before 6.55pm.

With them was Mr Benson, who had suffered serious injuries. He was taken to Broomfield Hospital, where he died after being stabbed in the chest.

At the opening of Mr Benson’s inquest this morning (November 13), it was revealed he “encountered” cyclist before sustaining his fatal injuries.

He is thought to have been stabbed during the altercation in Baddow Road.

A 25-year-old man was arrested on November 11 in connection with the ongoing police investigation. A second suspect, a 22-year-old man, was arrested on November 12. Both have been bailed to January 6 pending further enquiries.

Detectives are also investigating a separate incident in The Chase, Great Baddow, at 11.58pm on Tuesday.

A 22-year-old man suffered a stab wound to his head and was taken to Broomfield Hospital. His injuries were serious but not life threatening. He is currently in a stable condition.

At this time the two stabbings are being treated as separate but parallel investigations.
