Chelmsford Council launched Chelmsford as a Dementia Friendly Community this month and aims to create a city where people with dementia are understood, respected and supported.
2,246 people living in Chelmsford have dementia and the Council wants to make sure they all feel part of and enjoy the community.
The objective will be to sign up partners, services, activities and businesses within Chelmsford to increase the knowledge and understanding of dementia. By working with these partners barriers can be removed that stereotype and ensure Chelmsford is a city where people with dementia, their families and carers can be happy to live and work in.
