A “FLAGSHIP” McDonalds has been given the green light to open in Chelmsford... and create up to 100 jobs in the process.
The fast-food giants hope to open the restaurant on the corner of Robjohns Road and Westway early next year after Chelmsford Council planners gave the project the go-ahead.
What makes the store flagship is its two storey design and drive through facility – the largest of its kind.
The store will be the fourth in the city, following in the footsteps of the restaurants in the High Street, Riverside Retail Park and Boreham Interchange.
The company said they expect the store will create between 75 and 100 jobs.
A McDonald’s spokesperson: “We are pleased that Chelmsford City Council has approved plans for our new restaurant on Robjohns Road. The drive-thru restaurant will bring over 75 new jobs, both full and part-time, and will provide significant investment for the city.
“Those employed at our new Chelmsford restaurant will have access to leading training schemes, as well as the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications including adult certificates in Maths and English, apprenticeships in hospitality and even a Foundation Degree.”
