FARMING Minister George Eustice has praised Writtle College for giving him the skills required to be a successful farmer and now policitian.
Mr Eustice, the Tory MP for Camborne, Redruth and Hayle in Cornwall since 2010, studied Commercial Horticulture at the college between 1990 and 1993, before going into his family’s fruit farm business.
Mr Eustice said: “My learning at Writtle College has been very useful in my entire career, from running the family business to politics, and I still sometimes reference it.”
Before becoming a student, Mr Eustice attended an event at the college, at a time when his father was just establishing the family fruit farm in Cornwall.
“I had a great time there; I really enjoyed it and learnt a huge amount.”
