A MAN has appeared in court after he was arrested and charged with drug offences that caused two Chelsmford streets to be evacuated.
Taidhg Campbell-Mansfield, 19, was in the dock at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court this morning to face nine charges of drug production and possession.
On October 2, police were called to New London Road, Chelmsford after a chemical leak sparked the evacuation of a rehab centre.
The following day, they attended an address on North Avenue, Melbourne.
Campbell-Mansfield, of Fortinbras Way, Chelmsford, is accused of one count of producing a Class B drug, two counts of possessing a Class A drug, five counts of possessing a Class B drug and one count of possessing a Class C drug.
He did not enter a plea to the charges.
He will appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on Monday, June 9 for a plea and case management hearing.
