STRONG winds caused damage at a village green cricket club after their sight screen was blown over.
The white-coloured wooden structure at Navestock Cricket Club in Navestock Side went over in the gale force gusts.
Local resident Roy Tyzack spotted the screen had tipped over and blown onto a nearby tree.
He said: “We are quite fortunate here, being high up, not to suffer with flooding but the wind can be very strong as we are surrounded by open fields.
“Last year, the same screen had some slats damaged by the wind and it was repaired and repainted.
“But I am amazed that such a large and heavy item could be lifted up and thrown against a tree in this way.”
