CAREERS in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics were looked at by girls during a event in Boreham.
New Hall School hosted the STEM jobs event on Thursday evening to show female students what occupations they could do involving the subjects.
A number of firms including Essex & Suffolk Water, Specsavers and HSBC sent representatives to talk to the girls who also got to try out some of the jobs.
School head Katherine Jeffrey said: "We hope evenings like this will inspire our students and enable them to discover some of the incredible opportunities which arise from studying these subjects."
