COUNCIL housing tenants in Brentwood are to be consulted over who is chosen to carry out repairs to their properties.
Towards the end of 2013 the contracts worth £5million for maintenance at the houses and flats operated as social housing by Brentwood Council went to tender.
A number of bids were received by the authority who will now speak with residents living in the properties before selecting the winner.
Jan Pound, councillor responsible for community services, said: “We have been very pleased with the interest and the quality of responses that we have received for the works.
“Our officers, tenant representatives and a cross-party working group of councillors have thoroughly evaluated the responses.
“Our leaseholders will have the opportunity to make any representations to us before we make the decision in February.”
