A MAN has been told he is facing a prison sentence over a stabbing in Chelmsford.

Camarey Dennis had been facing trial on a charge of grievous bodily harm with intent following the incident on March 6.

But when he appeared at the city’s crown court last week, he admitted a lesser charge of unlawful wounding and his plea was accepted by the prosecution.

Sentencing was adjourned for reports and 21-year-old Dennis, of Wordsworth Court, Chelmsford, was granted bail.

But he was told by Judge Charles Gratwicke it was a serious matter and a prison sentence was the likely outcome.

He is accused of wounding Ashley Theobald during an incident in the city.
