ONCE again a village near Prestatyn will welcome some of the biggest acts from across the UK - and the pond - for two days of fantastic folk.
To mark the its ninth year, Folk at the Hall will welcome nine folk artists from as far afield as Nova Scotia to Trelawnyd this for another singularly welcoming and friendly festival July.
Alaw
Folk At The Hall is a family run music festival held every year on the first weekend of July. It is a unique opportunity to watch some of the best folk music in a small, intimate venue.
Mànran
Among the acts heading to Trelawnyd are the multi award-winning Scottish supergroup Mànran, and fellow Scottish three piece Talisk with , who in just five years have stacked up awards for their explosively energetic yet artfully woven sound, including 2018’s Belhaven Bursary for Innovation & 2017’s Folk Band of the Year both at the BBC Alba Scots Trad Music Awards, and a BBC Radio 2 Folk Award.
Up and coming fiddle player Ryan Young will share the stage with Jenn Butterworth who have been nominated in Folk band of the Year at the Scottish Trads Awards, while the festival will also welcome to Wales the Canadian Celtic folk four-piece Còig.
Edgelarks
Devonshire folk duo the Edgelarks will present folk from the Exmouth hills and beyond, while three piece Alaw will bring their powerfully written and absorbing original songs to the event to represent the very bets of Welsh folk.
Hannah Rarity
The festival will also hand the mic to solo artists, with English performers Blair Dunlop and Harri Endersby of County Durham as well as Scotland's Hannah Rarity completing the bill.
A spokesperson for the festival said: "Friday evening is a lively night with three performances in the hall and plenty of room to dance. Saturday is a seated, more chilled affair with plenty of opportunities to have some of our famous homemade foods. There are also acoustic sets at the campsite. We also have a fully stocked bar with plenty of locally brewed ales."
Tickets for Folk at the Hall 2020 are £25 for Friday, 45 for Saturday and Weekend tickets start at £68.
