THE slayer of Smaug the terrible will show a softer side in Llandudno next spring.

Pontypool-born star of Dracula Untold, Disney’s live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast and more Luke Evans will bring his limited, four stop tour to a close in Venue Cymru on Thursday, April 30.

Perhaps best known for his role as bard in The Hobbit trilogy, the star is setting his sights on Llandudno following the November 22 release of his debut album At Last.

Evans began his career on stage in musical productions like Rent, Miss Saigon and more, so it should come as no surprise that belting out showstoppers is an integral part of his retinue.

The 12-track record features a series of new twists on classics such as U2’s With or Without You, Cher’s Turn Back Time, Pat Benatar’s Love Is A Battlefield, title track and Etta James cover At Last.

No stranger to putting his stamp on a cherished classic, Evans has also joined stars including Helena Bonham Carter and Jim Broadbent appearing on BBC Children In Need’s Got It Covered album with his rendition of Charlie Chaplin’s Smile.
