Spice Girl Mel C has declared “X Factor is over”, after revealing why she would gladly sign up to be a judge on rival BBC show The Voice.
Rita Ora has just left The Voice to join the panel on Simon Cowell’s The X Factor on ITV, but Sporty Spice told The Daily Star she thinks the BBC talent show is much better.
Mel said: “I’d love to do The Voice because, one – I love Ricky [Wilson], and two – Tom [Jones] is a wonderful artist.
“I’ve never met will.i.am but hey, he’s been fun on the telly.
“Would I do it if they asked me? Yeah, I’d consider it. X Factor’s over. It’s had its day.”
Mel’s fellow Spice Girl, Scary Spice Mel B has been a judge on The X Factor, while bandmates Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton have both made guest appearances on the ITV show.
Mel C recently had a mini-Spice Girls reunion with Ginger and Baby Spice at the Isle of Wight Festival.
She revealed: “Me and Emma had planned to go for a long time but I think Geri decided last minute as she wanted to see Fleetwood Mac.
“She just turned up on Sunday, the lightweight. We didn’t even get to talk about the honeymoon as I wanted to know about the wedding as I couldn’t make it, but they are great.”
