Kim Kardashian wasn’t the only person who went blonde this week. Jared Leto also debuted a new barnet at Paris Fashion Week.
The 43-year-old rocker has hacked off his long hair to play the Joker in new comic book movie Suicide Squad, as well as shaving off his bushy beard.
It’s not the first time Jared has been a blond. He memorably had bleached locks when he starred with Brad Pitt in Fight Club.
The Oscar-winning actor has worn his hair long since 2012, but he is no stranger to wacky hair dos.
Jared’s band is called 30 Seconds To Mars, and maybe that’s where his barber is from too. Here’s a look at some of his wilder styles.
1. The pink Mohawk
The classic way to stand out on stage if you’re a rebellious rocker with plenty of product.
2. Bigger is better
Jared went for over-styled over style with this look in 2011.
3. Lank locks
This faded red mullet combined with the greasy black bangs screams Gothic horror.
4. Blond bombshell
The year Jared was launching his band, he was starting to work the unkempt rats-tails, but with a sunnier outlook.
5. City slicker
Jared did have a role in American Psycho, so maybe that’s where he drew inspiration for this intense, sleeked-back look. It gives us the creeps.
6. Platinum peak
Here’s a more traditional take on the Mohican from Jared, teamed with sexy stubble.
7. The Emo undercut
Maybe Jared just couldn’t be bothered to spike his Mohawk up on this occasion…
8. The hipster beard
Of course Jared had a massive bushy beard before everyone else did.
9. The hedgehog
Not a good look for Jared this one. The harsh spikes look too prickly. Ouch!
10. The sonic hedgehog
Jazz those spikes up with some highlights though, and suddenly it’s not so bad.
11. Lustrous locks
This is actually quite a tame look for Jared. But his love for his barnet shines through, as there have clearly been straighteners at work on this do.
And it reminds us of when we first saw him, as Jordan Catalano in My So Called Life. Sigh.
Jared – it doesn’t matter how bad your locks look. Those beautiful eyes can offset any bad hair day.
