Coronation Street star Barbara Knox is to get her own one-off documentary about her time playing Rita Tanner in the soap.
The actress will be celebrating her 50th anniversary in the role and the special programme, on ITV next month, will mark her mammoth run on the cobbles, according to Digital Spy.
It will be called Rita And Me, and will look at some of her character’s most memorable moments in the soap, as well as interviewing cast mates and friends of Barbara’s.
She first appeared as exotic dancer Rita in December 1964 for a single episode, but was brought back in 1972 and went on to become one of the programme’s most well-loved characters, running The Kabin newsagents.
During her time in the role, Barbara has been awarded an MBE and has won the British Soap Lifetime Achievement gong for her contribution to Corrie.
