SHENFIELD Library is holding an exhibition by artist David Smith.

During February his work covering an exciting range of oil and acrylic paintings will be displayed and including portraits of seals, London scenes and dramatic sunrises.

Proceeds from the exhibition will be donated to the Four Parishes Community First Responder Group, of which David is a long-serving member.

Community first responders are groups of local volunteers, trained by the ambulance service who, following a 999 call, are despatched to the patient to provide basic life support in the vital minutes before an ambulance may arrive. The Four Parishes group covers the parishes of Stondon Massey, Doddinghurst, Kelvedon Hatch, Blackmore, Wyatts Green, Hook End and Pilgrims Hatch.

Anyone interested in the organisation should contact Ron Ridge on 07836208938 or 01277 373864.

Funds raised from the exhibition will be used to purchase new equipment, to enable the group to provide an even more comprehensive service.

The exhibition will run from January 31 to February 27 at normal library opening hours and entry is free.
