A BUSY fundraising schedule has been arranged by the town mayor of Maldon for the new year - with one last push this year.
David Denyer is trying to raise as much money as possible, during his year in office, for local charities and principally the Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen Families Association (SSAFA).
2008 will end with the Little Ship sponsored row race and our very own mayor will be taking part at 12 noon at the Hythe Quay on Sunday December 28. Anyone who would like to sponsor the mayor to row in the five kilometre race can send donations by cheque to The Mayor of Maldon’s Fund at Maldon Town Council, Town Hall, Market Hill, Maldon, or take in cash in person.
Then in 2009 the first event will be a Around the World in Maldon dinner event themed on the best of British. Held at the Moot Hall tickets are £45 each for a three course meal and wine. The meals will be held on Saturday January 10 and Saturday January 17 at 7.30pm.
