Razorlight's manager Roger Morton has said acting drunk and crazy can help inspire musicians.

The music mogul - who manages wild child Johnny Borrell and the America rockers - agrees a rock n' roll lifestyle goes hand-in-hand with being a rock star.

Roger said: "I think that having a rock and roll lifestyle is connected with the kind of people who want to go on stage and perform, because that takes a special character.

"A good songwriter and a good performer is someone doing something original, is out there searching for something special - and there are many ways to do that. One of them is to get really drunk and crazy."

But Manic Street Preachers producer Dave Eringa added: "Having said that I've worked with a bunch of bands for whom that isn't the case - the Manics are very clean living boys."

Roger and Dave are on the judging panel for the Intel Studio Talent Search.

Aspiring musicians can upload their music to the Intel Studio website and the winners will be awarded a record deal with label Kids.

Visitors to the Intel Studio site can vote for their favourite bands online, giving the most popular band each month the chance to perform live London's Proud Gallery, supporting a signed act, in front of the panel of industry experts.

The nine months unsigned talent search will end in December, with a Battle of the Bands between nine finalists.
